GED Preparation classes take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 a.m. At the James Pitts Center, 226 E. 43rd Street, Chicago, IL 60653. In general, students must be at least 18 years old in order to enroll in adult education classes. Adult Secondary Education (ASE). Earn Your High School Equivalency Certificate. City Colleges of Chicago offers free classes to help you earn your high school equivalency certificate, go to college, and build a career. May be eligible for scholarships covering more than half the cost of either the GED® or HiSET.
