FatShades: I cannot, for the life of me, get cheats to work on HoMM 5. Any guidance? I cannot get the console command to display. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, or if I'm following an incorrect guide. Hopefully someone here might have a more up to date set of directions. It's probably because you're editing the wrong file.

You installed in Program Files folder and you're editing the file autoexec.cfg located in your game directory, right? Unfortunately Windows 7 and later 'protects' most of the files in these folders and makes copies to the Virtual Store. The game then reads files from the Virtual Store. I installed to a games folder on my desktop, but the profile where I'd insert the tilde key command to bring up the console is elsewhere. That may be the problem, even though I have edited the correct files.

You need to edit the /profiles/autoexec.cfg file and add the line: setvar dev_console_password = schwinge-des-todes Then you need to create the binding, in the c:/Users//Documents/My Games/Heroes of Might and Magic V/Profiles//input.cfg file, like so: bind show_console '`' The first one goes after the line mainmenu, while the second in the beginning of the file, in the Common Section. Doing all this I have console and cheats enabled.
