What this game comes down to is a slugfest between two different properties in a storyline that forces the good and bad people to eventually team up to separate the two merging realms. The merger of the MK and DCU realms are also the reason why powerhouses like Superman and Green Lantern simply cannot take out their enemies in one hit. After playing every fighting game in MK history ever available on a game console, it comes to no surprise how the controls are essentially the same.

The controls are still low and high punches and kicks with blocking. Of course entering a specific sequence with these buttons creates special moves and finishers. Serial terminal for windows. The game modes are divided between both the MK and DCU properties. The storyline is based on each character’s perspective and eventually the two properties merge and separate with a mix of interactions. Players fight their way up a line of random fighters to become number one. This game also sports an online mode that enters players in to a waiting room to make or await challenges. Keep in mind some players may rank low, but in essence are seasoned experts at Mortal Kombat. The main draw of this game is the inclusion of the DCU characters. The online play and the additional tweaks are appreciated.

This game plays just like any recent Soul Calibur game. Characters move on a 3-d plane, moving around the opponent, while fighting on the 2-d plane, in front or behind of each other. There are several modes to play: Storymode, 1 Player challenges, 2 Player VS, Online, etc. The storyline is divided into 2, one to play as MK characters and the other for DC. Each one is further divided into chapters, each chapter is played by a different character from either MK or DC. You have to play as every character, a nice inclusion.
